The Jordan Harbinger Show
901: Lawns | Skeptical Sunday - 230923
Oh Boy! Some of the "stats" in this one are shocking. Even if you do not own or care for a lawn, you may want to listen to this one.
This one hit a bit close to home for me, literally. I live in a climate where in summer it is extremely dry. During that time the local water supply systems (which are effectively all spring-fed) need to draw water from a local river, further stressing that waterway system.
Xeriscaping is the way to go and is gaining in popularity here (I am slowly converting to that idea for my yard), but there are still a lot of irrigated lawns here, and many need to be done better, as I often see a lot of irrigation runoff going down the gutter.
